CART has been operating an aquaponics system since 2009. Starting in 2011, J and J Aquafarms works with a select group of students each semester to research the viability of small scale aquaponics and to build an aquaponics teaching laboratory.
We will determine the most suitable fish and vegetables for the Central Valley (California), as well as various types of systems and grow media. We use locally and re-purposed materials where possible.
